Greetings in the Lovely Name of Jesus!
For the month of June, the Board, Staff and Team of God Encounters Ministries have been daily praying through the Prayer of Jabez as recorded in 1 Chronicles 4:10.
This is a clear, precise, and powerful prayer for more of God the Father’s blessings and power in each of our lives. In asking for the Holy Spirit’s direction for our GEM’s Targeted Prayer theme for the fourth Thursday in June, I felt directed to extend an invitation for you to join us in this insightful petition to the Most High God!
Dreaming with Others
My friend, Bob Perry, leader of Worship City Prayer in greater Nashville, TN, has been leading the charge in rallying many of us as watchmen together for such a time as this. Bob is one of my trusted allies and we tend to take turns cheering each other on to love and good deeds in Christ Jesus. So now, let me turn to this coach and cheerleader in the faith, and let’s see what he has to say about the Prayer of Jabez and Dreaming Big together!
“God isn’t offended by our big dreams, our great desires, or our very large prayers. To tell you the truth, as I’ve studied great men and women of God, they live a life of praying bold prayers. The Lord God Almighty is honored by their bold prayers and He responds and answers their requests.
What is a big dream for you? The answer is one that is bigger than you!
In other words, your dream or desire is beyond your human ability or experience to achieve. That is why you can’t just focus on your talent or your resources. You have to remind yourself that your desire is not bigger than God.
God loves answering your prayers, keeping His promises, fulfilling your desires, and performing amazing miracles. That is who our God is! That is what His Father’s heart desires!”

Lord, like Jabez and the revivalists of old, I plead with you, “Please bless…me!”
“Oh that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.”
I ask You to bless me with Your presence. More of Your grace and peace in my life. More of your revelation, knowledge, and wisdom. More of your favor, anointing, and the fear of the Lord.
Lord, like Jabez’s life, my journey has had pain and disappointment! But I fervently ask the God of miracles and new beginnings, “Oh Lord Jesus that you would bless me indeed!”
O, Heavenly Father, I call upon You to bless me! And what I really mean is, “Oh bless me a lot!” May my identity be completely rooted in Christ Jesus! May my emotions and decisions be fully surrendered and empowered by the Holy Spirit!
I cry out for the blessing of God the Father to release a new surge of supernatural favor and protection in my life. I am asking in Jesus’ name for more of His wonderful, unlimited goodness in my life, my family, and my delegated sphere of authority, all for the glory of God. Amen and Amen!
