The Start of the Fourth Wave

For a few years, I have been meditating on the principles of “Catching and surviving every wave of the Holy Spirit” while yet staying grounded in the main and the plain of the doctrines of the historical church. There have been numerous movements of the Holy Spirit throughout our wonderful church history: the Great Reformation, the First and the Second Great Awakenings, the Pietism and Holiness Movement, the Student Volunteer Movement, the Pentecostal Outpouring, the Latter Rain and Healing and Deliverance Movements and even in more recent times, the Evangelical and Charismatic movements - and many others. Every wave of the Holy [...]

The Purity and Power of True Worship

Before I was ever a preacher, author, or prophetic voice in the nations, I was first a singer and a worshiper. It seems that I was always a “priest to the Lord” first and a “prophet to the people” second. I started out by singing my heart out as loudly and strongly as I could–to the audience of One – on long walks on the railroad tracks in rural Missouri. Then I sang in the local Methodist church choir. I even won singing awards in the high school state music competitions for madrigals, solos, mixed double quartets, and the like. At one [...]

Come Again Holy Spirit!

One of the most consistent ways the Lord speaks to me is through the avenue of dreams. Many of my writing and speaking assignments are given to me in such a manner. Prayer assignments over the years have almost always come in the forms of visitations and visions. This is true especially if it is a strategic assignment. While ministering in Brazil in this past July, I was seeking the Lord for His mind and thoughts concerning future movements of the Holy Spirit. I went to sleep in my hotel room in Belo Horizonte and woke up out of a “stunner of a [...]

Faith to Live By!

Faith is a constant, abiding trust in something. In Hebrews 6:1-3, it is called faith towards God, not faith in feelings, circumstances, or even people. True faith is in the present tense as distinguished from hope, which is future-oriented. Faith comes after repentance and is of the heart, not of the mind. Faith in God gives us the ability to believe His Word and appropriate it in our lives. The importance of faith can be seen in the fact that it is impossible to please God without it. “And without faith, it is impossible to please Him; for he who comes to [...]

Battle Plans are Being Released!

From time to time, I bring you a prayer alert from some of my friends and respected peers. With the recent massacre in a Colorado movie theatre, the violence escalating in Syria, the Eurozone is experiencing instability in multiple areas, and the drought in much of the U. S., I thought it would be helpful for us to read this short exhortation from Cindy Jacobs of Generals International and the Reformation Prayer Network. It is a call to arise in this hour. It is time to put on our army boots. I frankly encourage you to call some special gatherings or just [...]

Doing the Double

Jesus prophesied, “I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father” (John 14:12). I call this “doing the double,” and I believe that you and I are part of a generation that has been called to do these “greater works.” By listening to the Holy Spirit and then casting our nets where He tells us to, we will be able to haul in a miraculous catch! This generation, as it arises and breaks out of the box of traditional [...]

7 Reasons Why I Pray and Take a Stand for Israel

Israel is Still the Apple of God's Eye and His inheritance - Close to His heart. Pray for and take a stand for Israel because Israel is still very close to God’s heart. I have already shared Zechariah 2:8, which says, "He who touches you [Israel], touches the apple of His eye." Centuries before Zechariah prophesied these words, Moses wrote a song containing a very similar picture: For the Lord's portion is His people; Jacob [Israel] is the allotment of His inheritance….He encircled him, He cared for him, He guarded him as the pupil of His eye….He spread His wings and caught [...]

What to Do When all Else Fails!

There are times that hit us all when we are “up against the wall”. What are you going to do when it seems like all else has failed? Why, it is time to PRAISE THE LORD! Yes, let the sacrifice of praise be heard from your lips even if you feel like you are living in the midst of barren straits! Biblical Reasons for Praise Even without a clear reason, we praise God for who He is. We praise Him because of His incomparable greatness. As the psalmist says, “Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised” (Ps. 48:1, nkjv). Although [...]
