Praying from a Victorious Perspective
It Is Finished! There are seven statements of Jesus on the cross. Perhaps the most important one of all is when He declared, “It is finished!” (John 19:30) Nothing else needed to be done because He had done it all. The work of the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ is perfectly complete! I am convinced that we need this revelation to be able to pray effective prayers that avail much. We must learn to pray from this posture – from this perspective. We are not defeated. He has already won the battle and as authentic disciples of Jesus we are called to [...]
Lessons from My Spiritual Fathers
Fatherhood determines identity and identity and releases security. Security produces a culture where it is safe to be unique, an environment where dreaming is the norm, and an expectation that dreams really do come true! Well, that is my perspective from the chair I sit in today. I did not always know or experience these principles, as I grew up in a rather unsafe home with verbal abuse occurring almost every day. We each have a personal pilgrimage - and for a moment I would like to invite you into a window of mine. Jesus I loved without reservation, but the premise that God the Father was [...]
God Quits When Man Quits
One of the first great intercessors in the Bible was Abraham, and his most famous intercessory prayer was for one of the most sinful places in the ancient world! Sodom and Gomorrah have become synonymous with sin, sexual debauchery, and sodomy, yet the great Patriarch of Israel, the “father of faith,” interceded passionately that those twin cities of sin be spared! I believe it was this kind of compassion that led God to say, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?” (Genesis 18:17 NASB) Following in the Footsteps of Abraham When God told Abraham that He planned to destroy Sodom [...]
The Jesus People DNA
The Jesus People Movement was a wave of Christianity that began on the West Coast of the United States in the late 1960s and early 1970s and spread primarily through North America and Europe, before subsiding by the early 1980s. It was the major evangelical Christian element within the hippie counterculture, or, conversely, the major hippie element within some strands of Protestantism. Members of the grass roots movement were called Jesus People, or even at times Jesus Freaks. Its predecessor, the Charismatic Movement, had already been in full swing for a few years. It involved mainline Protestants and Roman Catholics who testified to supernatural experiences similar to [...]
The Synergy of the Generations
If the Church hopes to be relevant and meet the needs of the twenty-first century and beyond, it must be willing to undergo a paradigm shift. The Elijah to Elisha Revolution confronts the status quo by challenging the Church to reexamine many of its assumptions. One of these assumptions is what could be called the “quick escape mentality.” For over a century many believers have been taught that the endtimes are near and to expect Christ to take His Church at any moment. This teaching has been especially prevalent in parts of the evangelical and pentecostal branches of the Church. Whether or [...]
Purim – When the Enemy Overplays His Hand
This article was composed by Jon Hamill from a recorded teleconference call on Wednesday, February 25th, 2015 between he and James Goll. In this call, James prophesied regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to a joint session of Congress, which took place yesterday, March 3rd, 2015 (almost a week later). As you listen to the recording and read the article below, we encourage you to continue to lift these issues before the Lord as He leads you! Click here to listen to the teleconference call on February 25th. Click here to watch Prime Minister Netanyahu's address to Congress on March 3rd. I believe we [...]
ACPE Word of the Lord for 2015
Each year, as we have since 1999, the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders met before the New Year to pray and seek the Lord for a word. In 2011, we added a group of emerging prophetic leaders that, as of this year, we consider fully seasoned members of our round table, and we included their input as well into this word of the Lord. The ACPE has the conviction that we are to function as the disciples did in Acts 13:1-3. This passage notes that it was the Holy Spirit releasing a prophetic word as a consensus of the prophets as opposed [...]
Inspirationally Praying the Word
The Beauty of the Lord! I sense the intense desire of the Holy Spirit to take a whiskbroom and dust off some of The Lost Treasures of the Body of Christ and present them as brilliant gems to gaze upon. Like a spiritual archaeologist or perhaps something like a modern day “Indiana Jones” of the fabled movies, let’s search thru the treasure chest of God and church history and bring these jewels to the forefront once again. Madame Jeanne Guyon, in her classic book, Experiencing God through Prayer, preserved great treasures for us from the past and we get to bring them forward in our [...]
