Jesus told us to persist—continuously and tirelessly—in asking, seeking and knocking on the doors of heaven.
The New Living Translation emphasizes the ongoing action of Jesus’ words:
“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and you will the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened” (Luke 11:9-10, NLT).
Keep on doing it. Keep on keeping on. Keep on praying!
I also want to urge you to keep on coming—keep coming to God and keep coming into agreement with Him as well as with your brothers and sisters who pray alongside you.
If you are still coming, it means you have not yet arrived, and that is OK.
It is the keeping on that is important as we grow spiritually and learn more about what it means to ask, seek and knock in agreement with God and others.
The Power of Agreement
Follow the Example of These Courage Women of Faith
In the New Testament, we find many women who display aspects of every gift of the Spirit, whether or not they were aware of it.
For example, take the Samaritan woman at the well, whose name is lost to history (see John 4:7-29). Jesus singled her out, and she is considered by many to be the first true evangelist in the Bible.
When she told the townspeople the Good News about the Christ, many of them believed.
Consider Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist and cousin of Mary, the mother of our Lord Jesus.
Both of these devout women were active in prayer, worship and faithful waiting on the Lord for the fulfillment of His prophetic promises. The interchange between these God-fearing women resulted in exuberant praises and prophesying concerning the destiny of Mary’s child, the Messiah Jesus. The magnificent prophetic exchange that unfolded is recorded in Luke 1:39-55.

Courage doesn’t take a large bank account, big muscles or impressive beauty.
It simply requires making yourself available and being willing to obey.
And it is always worth it.
Some of you may think that you are the most unlikely candidate for God to use to accomplish anything significant.
Most of us think of ourselves in that way.
The world teaches us that it is the rich, the powerful or the beautiful who are important and make a difference in the world.
That’s not what God teaches. He doesn’t think or work the way the world does.
The prophet Isaiah recorded, “‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts'” (Isa. 55:8-9, NASB).
I like the way Randy Clark puts it: “God can use little ole me!”
God can use anyone or anything He desires to accomplish His purpose.
Why You Need Spiritual Discernment in This Hour
Satan’s number one weapon is deception. Your number one need is discernment.
Someone once said, “To be forewarned is to be forearmed.” That is why you need discernment in this hour.
That old saying captures a scriptural truth: Discernment forewarns us so that we do not fall prey to subtle deceptions.
Forewarning gives us courage, too, as we find out what we are dealing with and what to do.
“The Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons” (1 Tim. 4:1, NASB).
The above Scripture begins with the phrase, “The Spirit explicitly says …”
The Holy Spirit is the one who forewarns us, in this case that some people will abandon their faith in Jesus because other attractions will draw their attention; they will be allured by convincing voices that will manipulate their attention and cause them to give up on their belief. Their walk with the Lord will seem too wearisome and strenuous, and they will start to look for something more “fulfilling.”
The “later times” referred to have been underway for centuries, and the warning especially holds true for us today.

It is so important to keep the main thing the main thing. God always has eternity on His mind, and we must have the gospel of the kingdom on our minds and hearts at all times as well. I remember an encounter I had when ministering at Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena, California, when the seer realm opened up before me. I saw these huge glowing letters right in front of me: “S. H. In the opening of my book The Seer, I wrote about the Nile River, the longest river in the world, and how it is formed when two other rivers flow together into it: the White Nile and the Blue Nile. I saw it as analogous for the way the stream of the prophet and the stream of the seer combine to make a mighty prophetic river.
In terms of the flow of the river of living water, I propose that a third stream is also converging with the others—the stream of the feeler.

When we say someone is “sensitive,” what do we mean?
In many cases, it means that we have to walk on eggshells around that person, right? We don’t want to upset a sensitive person because of the potential fallout.
In a positive sense, though, it can mean that the person’s sensibilities are fine-tuned to pick up little environmental clues and subtle influences that help this individual navigate through life and relate to others.
Extra-sensitive people are “feelers,” and their antennae are always ready to receive signals.
Without thinking about it, they will walk into a room and pick up the atmosphere, and their mood may be affected by it.
Their sensitivity may present certain challenges.
How You Can Experience the Emotions of God
Does God have emotions?
Yes, He does! And did you know that you can experience the emotions of God?
Of course, God doesn’t have fickle feelings and whimsical moods, nor is He influenced unduly by the condition of the world He has created. You can be sure that He never experiences “prophetic mood swings”, either.
God does not sit in heaven worrying over our earthly condition, wringing His hands with sweaty palms. I don’t believe there is ever a conversation within the Godhead where something is said along the lines of, “Oh My, what are We going to do?”
Yet, in Scripture, we see that God takes delight. He experiences gladness and joy. He is lavishly and lovingly generous.
His protective instinct is often aroused, and He goes to battle on behalf of those in need. He comforts. He is sympathetic and relatable, tolerant and patient.
Prophet: Worshipping God Through Uncertain Times
Today’s world is filled with so many uncertainties! Life seems to be more like a turbulent roller coaster ride with no clear end in sight rather than a nice walk in the park.
Many things are not turning out the way we thought they would. We have a lot of choices to make in how we live our lives in the midst of on-going issues such as:

- — Political unrest.
- — Chaos and confusion
- — Economic upheaval.
- — Social media censorship.
- — Values in education.
I have personally lived through a lot of uncertainty. I have felt like a boat tossed around by choppy waves and blown around by the winds of change. I knew how to pray until the bottom fell out. Then I had to adapt to the new turf. I learned to worship God in new ways. Some ways were deeper, others more stripped-down.
In fact, I discovered, you do not have to call out to Jesus in a prescribed way, using special religious language. You certainly do not have to figure out a preset pattern. When you call out to Jesus, you can bring anything to him, even your unresolved questions. This can actually be a form of radical, pure worship.

How You Must Properly Steward Prophecy
Much has been said in recent weeks regarding prophecy and its accuracy in the body of Christ.
My intention in this article is not to call into question any particular prophetic word given or its interpretation or application—but rather it is to give solid scriptural principles by which we can grow and mature in stewarding prophetic revelation, interpretation and application moving forward.
Years ago, when I was in Kansas City with Mike Bickle and others, Bill Hamon (a mature prophet who is the founder of an extensive ministry called Christian International) taught us about the meaning and importance of these three basic prophetic principles, which build upon each other:

What the Body of Christ Desperately Needs Most in This Hour
The spirit of wisdom is one of the seven Spirits of God as wisdom is one of the primary qualities or characteristics of God’s Holy Spirit.
He is wisdom personified, and “God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself” (1 Cor. 1:30a, NLT).
To exist above the turmoil in the days in which we live, increased wisdom is needed for every member of the body of Christ.
But I would especially emphasize to all of our graciously gifted prophetic people: more than divine revelation, we need an increase in wisdom, understanding and application so we can handle the Word of the Lord in a more excellent and effective way.
Without the bridge of wisdom in place, along with the motivation of love from a pure heart, our precious cargo of prophetic revelation might simply end up as a bunch of dumped out excessive verbiage.
Luke 2:52 (MEV) states, “And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and men.”
Bottom line—if we are going to follow in His footsteps, and if Jesus grew in wisdom as a part of maturation process, then none of us are exempt.
Prophet: The Unlimited Power of Prophetic Intercession
While the term is not found anywhere in the pages of Scripture, “prophetic intercession” is powerful because it allows you to lean into the heart of God and then pray His heart back to Him in accordance with His will.
Finding Words for Scriptural Principles
As far as I know, airplanes are not in the Bible.
School buses and bicycles are not mentioned, either.
The book of Leviticus does not say anything pro or con about contact lenses or television.
The term “Trinity” is not found anywhere in the Bible. Were you aware of that?
“God in three persons, blessed Trinity.” It’s in one of our greatest church hymns, “Holy, Holy, Holy.” It’s in some of our recited church history creeds. It has to be used in the Bible, somewhere, right? No. It isn’t.
Neither is the phrase Sunday school.
Now some of you just said, “I knew it the whole time!”
Does that mean Sunday school is unscriptural?
Prophet: Why It Is Vital to Welcome Holy Spirit Into Your Daily Life
It is vital to welcome the Holy Spirit into your everyday life! He is the one who connects us to heaven.
Without Him, not even Jesus could have known what the Father wanted Him to say or to do. (See John 5:19.)
Oh, how I love the Holy Spirit! He makes Jesus real. He makes the Father enjoyable. I roll out the red carpet to this precious dove of God every day.
I say, “Holy Spirit, You are welcome here!” In fact, pause and declare this right now along with me. “Holy Spirit, You are so desperately needed, and You are so very welcome here, right now!”
If you want to know God, you absolutely must get to know the Holy Spirit, who works tirelessly to connect heaven and earth.
Getting to Know Holy Spirit
One of the dimensions of the Holy Spirit described in the Scriptures is the “Spirit of knowledge,” which means that He is the Spirit of knowing and of being known.
In other words, the Spirit has been given to us to make God known and to make Him knowable. In fact, as our helper, one of the primary functions of the Holy Spirit is assisting us in getting to know God.
Why Holy Spirit Loves Messes
In order to move with the Holy Spirit, you must first learn what He loves and how he operates.
The Holy Spirit loves messes.
How do I know?
At creation, as the Holy Spirit was lingering over the formless nothingness, God spoke into being the world as we know it.
Genesis 1:2 (AMP) says, “The earth was formless and void or a waste and emptiness, and darkness was upon the face of the deep [primeval ocean that covered the unformed earth]. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters.”
The Spirit of God “loved” the chaos to life, transforming it from mess to magnificence.
The Moving, Renewing Spirit of God
Many Bible scholars apply “the law of first mention” to their study and interpretation of the Scripture. This principle maintains that the first time a word, concept or doctrine is found in Scripture fixes its characteristics from that point forward.
In the verse above, which is the second verse of the entire Bible, you see that the Holy Spirit moves.
And that is how He operates to this day.
All the time, He keeps moving across the surface of the earth, and He brings light into darkness wherever He goes.
James Goll: What Promises Are You Believing God For?
Faith matters. Faith is the constant, abiding trust in something. True faith is the constant, abiding trust in God Himself.
By that we mean faith toward God, not faith in our feelings, our circumstances or other people, even leaders.
True faith is in the present tense as distinguished from hope, which is future-oriented.
Faith comes after repentance and is of the heart, not of the mind.
Where Is Your Faith?
Some of us are able to believe wholeheartedly more readily than others.
I have been through some major disappointments in my life, and I have had to bring those disappointments to God so that He could readjust and refresh my faith.
I am sure I am not alone.
I have come to this conclusion: I am not going to lower the bar of my expectation or faith just because of my present (temporary, difficult) circumstances.
By the grace of God, I am going to keep growing in faith as long as I live.
Faith comes and keeps on coming.
What Is God’s Word to You?
Prophet: The Holy Spirit Told Me, ‘I’m Going to Teach You the Highest Weapon of Spiritual Warfare’
Prayer—in all its forms—has played a key role in my life and ministry for years. I want to see the works of the devil destroyed with the least amount of backlash. So I have pondered deeply on various understandings and perspectives concerning spiritual warfare and how to deal with territorial spirits. I’ve met with different revival leaders around the world to increase my understanding on issues dealing with principalities, powers, and spirits of wickedness in the heavenly places (Eph. 6:12).
A gigantic breakthrough came to me one day when the penetrating voice of the Holy Spirit spoke, resolving the whole dilemma, “I’m going to teach you to release the highest weapon of spiritual warfare.”
Stunned, I marveled at the thought, “the highest weapon.” That one statement made my spiritual antennas go way out! My initial response of gratitude was soon replaced by curiosity and anticipation. What could the Holy Spirit mean? What is He referring to?
At first, the Lord simply gave me an invitation, “I’m going to teach you to release the highest weapon of spiritual warfare.” But finally He added, “I will teach you to release the brilliance of My great presence.”
Prophet: Why Everything Changes When God Draws Near
When God draws near, everything changes!
Your agenda changes. Your program changes. Your opinion changes.
And most importantly, your heart changes.
When God draws near, your hunger and quest for greater intimacy with God is forever changed.
You desperately need God’s manifest presence.
Do you desire His presence more than anything else is this life?
It is often stated that His presence with you is His greatest present to you. In this season of giving and receiving gifts, I can shout a loud “amen” to that statement.
“Here’s the one thing I crave from God, the one thing I seek above all else: I want the privilege of living with him every moment in his house, finding the sweet loveliness of his face, filled with awe, delighting in his glory and grace. I want to live my life so close to him that he takes pleasure in my every prayer” (Ps. 27:4, TPT).

How You Can Position Yourself to Receive Spiritual Gifts
Since the beginning of time, the Holy Spirit has been looking for people through whom He can manifest Himself.
At the time of the creation, He “hovered” like a hen over her baby chicks (see Gen. 1:2).
After the Exodus, Moses said, “Oh, that all the people of the Lord were prophets” (Num. 11:29b).
The prophet Joel foretold a day when prophecy, dreams and visions would become widespread (see Joel 2:28-29).
After Jesus came and the Spirit was given to the church, Peter announced that the day prophesied by Joel had arrived (see Acts 2:14-21).
Today, we are still living in that day, and God is ministering His gifts to those who will receive and release them to raise a dying world to true life. God wants to give us gifts so that we can spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.
How does He do it? Can we position ourselves receptively? How can we activate our faith here and now?
