A flurry of prophetic words have come forth concerning the Kansas City Chiefs’ win in Super Bowl LIV, including Bob Jones’ word from the 1980’s. After much prayer and contemplation, I felt it would be good to add my personal prophetic perspective to the composite of words being released.
You may wonder, “Why another word on this subject?”
At this point and time in my life, I feel I am one of the voices that can help to bridge the recent “prophetic past” to the present and into the future. One of the mandates upon my life—confirmed to me in several near death experiences—is to be a voice of prophetic reason in a tumultuous age.
Yes, I had a lot of personal history in the 1980’s and 90’s with seer parabolic prophet, Bob Jones. He emerged on the scene with his eyes all aglow with heaven’s message, and his socks hanging down to his ankles.
There was no one quite like Bob Jones!
Bob not only talked in parables; he was one.
For those who do not know, I grew up in rural Missouri, graduated from College Central Missouri State University in 1974 and lived in and ministered for years in the Greater Kansas City.
For well over a decade, I had a lot of personal conversations with Bob and did a good deal of prophetic ministry along his side. Yes, I can actually say, “I was there!”
God Speaks in Parables
At times, it seems the prophetic is a foreign language that needs translation, using its own buzz words with symbolic realms that appear to be veiled communication. But then, there is precedent.
All of the prophets of scripture and Jesus himself taught in parables.
Hosea 12:10 states, “I have also spoken to the prophets, and I gave numerous visions, and through the prophets I gave parables.”
Matthew 13:34, explains, “All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables, and He did not speak to them without a parable.”
Then in Mark 4:33 we gain more understanding, “With many such parables He was speaking the word to them, so far as they were able to hear it.”
So, I think we better just accept the fact that these are some of the wonderful and sometimes mysterious ways of the Holy Spirit.
God still speaks in parables today!
Some Background to Bob Jones’ Prophetic Word
Before I proceed any further, I want to acknowledge the research and stewardship by friends of mine who have already given expression concerning the strategic words about the Kansas City Chiefs’ win in the recent Super Bowl.
In particular, I want to give a shout out to Wesley and Stacey Campbell, Shawn Bolz, Bob Hartley, Johnny Enlow and others. Thank you for your contribution.
Now here is my personal piece as well.
Michal Ann and I first met Bob Jones during the historic Joel’s Army Fast that the young revivalist, Mike Bickle, called forth in Kansas City in May of 1983. I was pastoring Harvest Fellowship in Warrensburg, MO and felt led to have our congregation participate in this radical call to 21 days of prayer and fasting for revival in the Heartland and beyond.
We were full of zeal and passion for Jesus and His purposes in the earth. This was when I first encountered Bob Jones and knew from that moment on that my life was tethered to the prophetic destiny being declared in those days.
In those early years, Bob Jones attached himself with Mike Bickle, a man of prayer and consecration, in what was then called Kansas City Fellowship. A 21-Day Solemn Assembly was initiated by Mike Bickle in Kansas City which started on May 7th, 1983. (Please refer to mikebickle.org IHOPKC PROPHETIC HISTORY for documentation.) I, and our small congregation, wholeheartedly participated.
We were all anticipating that “revival” was right at hand. The Solemn Assembly was supported with signs in the heavens and on the earth. While assisting in leading worship on the 19th night of our local expression, I had one of my first angelic encounters. A door of supernatural activity was opened in those days and has continued to be open ever since. Eventually I gave up all I had built to join this stunning and eclectic team of potential world changers.
It was in the season that Bob started sharing words with multiple people about signs of an imminent revival. We were each given pieces to the puzzle. The way I remember hearing it went like this, “When the Kansas City Chiefs go to the Big One, it will be a sign that Revival is coming and that the Heartland will be healed.”
The Kansas City Chiefs prophecy was conversationally spoken by Bob to many different people. In fact, Bob Jones’ personal doctor, Dr. Jeff Earl, has stated, that Bob even reminded Jeff of this word in the last years of Bob’s life.
The nature of the prophetic is that it is partial, progressive and conditional.
So, over the years, more revelation would be granted and more pieces of the prophetic puzzle were served to additional people.
Shawn Bolz, whom I have known since he was 18 years old, recites it in the following manner. “When the Kansas City Chiefs go to the Super Bowl and win, this will be a sign-post of the billion-soul harvest and a sign that God will raise up his Apostolic Chiefs in all the spheres of influence.” (Please refer to https://www.facebook.com/ShawnBolz). Sounds good to me!
Signposts for Us to Read
As reported by various ones, there are some significant prophetic signposts from the Chiefs’ win at the LIV Super Bowl. Here are a few.
- The Kansas City Chief’s victory was on 02/02/2020. (See 2 Chronicles 20:20, Acts 20:20 and John 20:20.)
- It had been 50 years, a Jubilee, since Kansas City Chiefs played in Super Bowl IV. It is the 100th anniversary of the birth of the NFL.
- It was coach Andy Reid’s 222nd career win. (Consider Isaiah 2:2, 22:22 and Acts 2:2.)
- The Chiefs won on the 33rd day of 2020 with 333 days remaining in this Leap Year. (See Jeremiah 33:3.)
- Quarterback Pat Mahomes, a young man of prayer, is 24 years old. (Note that I previously mentioned in my “8 Proclamations for 5780 & Beyond” that Psalm 24 will be highlighted in the fresh move of righteousness and purity.)
A Personal Perspective
On an even more personal note, this victory for my former hometown Kansas City Chiefs, fell on my earthly father’s birthday, as he was born on 02/02/1924. Oh, and our family just so happened to move to Nashville, TN 22 years ago. So, for me this was a special personal gift.
Perhaps our Heavenly Father looks upon us and wants to encourage us that our labors are not in vain. We can have renewed hope that Revival, Renewal, Reformation and Restoration are at hand!
As Shawn Bolz has stated, “I don’t know what the fulfillment of a word like Bob’s that is so general will look like, but I am keeping my eyes and heart open especially to share my faith with those around me who would be hungry to hear, because as Bob once defined, revival looks like lives being shared in love.”
From my perspective, the win by the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV is a prophetic signpost from which I derive encouragement.
Promises we have labored for are right at the door.
Does God still speak in parables today? I believe so and perhaps the win by the Kansas City Chiefs is a prophetic sign post that revival is right at hand.
But hey, whether you were rooting for the 49’ers, the Packers, Vikings, Ravens, Patriots, Texans, Titans or whoever, here is the real issue—we have crossed a threshold from one era to another.
God’s Word says in John 4:35b, “Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that are white for harvest.”
It is time to have 20 / 20 Vision and believe that the Best is Yet to Come!
