Did you know that you can have peace in ANY situation? No matter what you are going through, you can experience the stillness and rest of the Holy Spirit.
Today I want to give you a word of exhortation. Not only does this come from scripture, but it has also come to me in a dream I just received. And I believe it’ll be a great blessing to you.
In Mark 4:35-39, it reads, “On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, ‘Let us cross over to the other side.’ ”
Now, would I ever like to push “pause” and like really unpack that because do you realize every time there is an opportunity, or invitation, to go over to the other side, there is an opposition or a hindrance that seems to appear or come into your path to keep you from crossing over?
With that in mind, let’s look at these verses.
But let’s continue… “On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, ‘Let us cross over to the other side.’ Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, ‘Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?’ Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still!’ And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”
Wow, there’s a lot there to unpack isn’t there. Or could it be that there’s something very simple there to unpack.
Peace, Be Still!
He rose, He rebuked the wind, and He spoke to the circumstances. “Peace, be still!”
As I previously mentioned, when we attempt to cross over from familiarity into the unfamiliar, or to cross over into something new, there is almost always an opposition that occurs. But I have a word for you, and it is this: Peace, Be Still!
As I have been praying about this month’s word of exhortation, I had a dream this morning. I have a friend named Hope Dar and she attends my church. She has released the most amazing Holy Spirit saturated song which was nominated for a double award. The song is called ‘Peace Be Still’, if you haven’t heard it, go listen to it.
In a dream this morning, I heard Hope Dar singing, Peace, Be Still. Do you know what we need to say or speak to the storms in our lives? “Peace, be still.” That is what saturated me in my dream.
I’ve been going through some circumstances in my own life, and I need to take that song to heart myself—peace, be still—as an exhortation.
Do you know that in storms—natural storms, tornadoes, or cyclones—there is what’s called the eye of a storm. In the middle of a storm, there is an eye. This eye has perfect peace. As it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual.
We can have peace. There’s a verse in Romans 14:7 that says, “…for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” So, we don’t need to lose our peace in any situation, in the Holy Spirit.
So right now, let me pray a blessing for you to help calm the storms in your life.
Jesus did three things.
- He arose.
- He spoke.
- And He was at rest.
So, right now I bless you in the name of Jesus. And I say, “Peace Be Still” amid any economic storm, amid any storm that’s coming against you in any area of life.
Peace, be still in the Holy Spirit.
Peace, Be Still!
