I bought this book and workbook with high anticipation since, when I first saw the title on God Encounters Ministry website, it caught my eye and my heart at the same time. I have always loved the Word and the Word has made a way and a place in me, making me know that I am in the Word and the Word is in me. So being in “Passionate Pursuit” is not only intriguing, but also deeply satisfying. As I was reading the blessings and recommendations and forward, I was amazed at my hunger and desire and love for the LORD and my delight to be reading this book. I have experienced redemptive gleanings of Him in my brothers and sisters as discussed in Chapter 1 and confirmations of His word to me before, but as I was reading the names of God and looking to Him I saw Him before me in a beautiful buttery yellow-gold color garment and sitting in an atmosphere all around Him that was the same color, and Jesus was smiling and happy to be there in front of me and to be showing Himself to me. And He broke through in my understanding and showed me something that I had not previously realized.
As I was looking at Jesus’ beauty and the buttery, creamy yellow-gold color of His robe and the atmosphere around Him and the shining Light of His face, I was suddenly aware that this is His favor ~ for me ~ and where previously I would be completely satisfied and overcome with a mere glimpse of Him and attribute His presence to the corporate anointing or my leaders or their prayers for me, then sort of run away and retreat back to myself, albeit with my soul full of delight for Him, I would always be satisfied with a mere glimpse or moment, but somehow selling myself short and not feeling worthy to stay for very long. And as I was reading and looking to Him and noticing His presence, and favor, all of a sudden I realized that He wants ‘me.’ And the way I grew up and was used to receiving from my earthly father was not to connect or stay, but to receive whatever word or instruction along with a bit of feeling as if I’m imposing, rejected or criticized, but, Jesus is telling me that He wants me, and wants me to stay in His presence and to enjoy Him and not to run away or leave. I’m still enjoying the book, haven’t finished it yet, but just wanted to share in this preemptive Review of what God is already doing for me ~ that this is a true ‘God Encounter Ministries’ encounter with the Living Word and what He desires for me.
