Is the FIRE Still Burning on Your Altar?

Is there still any fire burning on the altar of your heart?

Recently, I woke from the night with a lingering impression, one that would not leave me.

It came through a pair of dreams, both centered around a single, piercing question:

Is there still any fire burning on the altar of your heart?

I paused. I reflected. And I realized this was not merely a question just for me. It was a question meant to pass through me, to you.

Scripture gives us the foundation:

“The fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall never go out.”
Leviticus 6:13

This command is not just an ancient practice, it is a present-day invitation.

We are the temple of the living God, and the altar is no longer external, it is within our hearts.

And so the question remains:

Was there once fire? Yes, for many of us.
But is there still fire burning now?

Through the weariness of life, through disappointment, delay, and difficulty, the fire can begin to dim.

I remember a time when the Lord searched me in a deeply personal way.

It was as though my life was being examined, layer by layer, until it came to the very center, the altar of my heart.

And there, by His mercy, there was still fire burning.

But I also heard this commission:

Carry the fire and release it.
To impart and call others back to the place of living flame.

Beloved, I sense that same call again in this hour.

It is time to push past the weariness.
It is time to move beyond disappointment.
It is time to return to the altar once again.

This is a call to sign back up, not out of striving, but out of love.
Not out of duty, but out of devotion.

Your fire still matters.
Your prayers still matter.
Your devotion still matters.

Join with me in the prayer below in response to the question that the  Lord has asked of us.

Blessings,

Scripture Based Prayer

“The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar;
it shall never go out.”
  Leviticus 6:13

Father, we come before You once again, with yielded hearts.

Search us, O God.
Reveal what has grown dim, what has grown weary, and what has been set aside through the pressures of life.

And now, we say yes again.

Yes to Your call.
Yes to Your presence.
Yes to the fire upon the altar of our hearts.

Holy Spirit, breathe upon us once more.

Reignite what has grown faint.
Restore what has been lost.
Renew within us a burning devotion that will not be quenched.

Let there be a continual fire burning within us, a living offering of prayer, worship, and consecration unto You.

Strengthen the weary. Heal the disappointed. Awaken the dormant.

Draw us again into our divine assignment.

Let the fire burn.
And let it never go out.

In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
