Forgiveness Diffuses the Powers of Darkness | Praying Discrnrs Podcast

By James W. Goll— September 11, 2025

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”  – Luke 23:34 NKJV

Dear Friend,

We are entering into a new season.  As you might not have heard, the Global Prayer Storm podcast has now been rebranded as the Praying Discrnrs Podcast.  The mission is the same, but the emphasis has grown sharper, to raise up a discerning people who pray with power and insight in this hour of history.

In this new episode, I share a message straight from the heart of God: “Forgiveness Diffuses the Powers of Darkness.”  From the cross, Jesus declared, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do” (Luke 23:34).  Those words carry the authority to silence the accuser and to remove the legal rights of the enemy.  Forgiveness is not a sign of weakness — it is one of the highest weapons in spiritual warfare.

I also reflect on the inspiring example of Erica Kirk, who publicly forgave her husband’s assassin.  Her act of obedience in the face of deep pain demonstrated to the world the reality of the Sermon on the Mount.  Forgiveness opens the door for healing, sparks revival, and releases the presence of God in the darkest of places.

In this message, I share from my own prophetic journey and from resources like Strike the Mark and Triumph: Your Comprehensive Guide to Spiritual Warfare.  I want you to be equipped to discern the schemes of the enemy and to walk in freedom as you extend forgiveness to others.

I encourage you to watch this new episode of the Praying Discrnr Podcast
on my YouTube channel.  Be sure to share it with a friend who needs to
hear this message, and prayerfully consider supporting God Encounters
Ministries as we continue to equip the body of Christ.Because God Encounters are for everyone — and God Encounters are especially for you.

Blessings,
James W. Goll

Scripture Based Prayer

Prayer of Forgiveness and Release

Father, in Jesus’ name, we thank You for the example of Your Son, who prayed on the cross, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”

Today, by Your grace, we choose to forgive. We release those who have wronged us, and we declare that bitterness will not take root. In Jesus’ name, we declare every legal right of the enemy is broken through forgiveness.

Holy Spirit, fill us with Your love. Help us to bless and not curse, to pray for those who oppose us, and to walk in the freedom of the cross.

Lord, let forgiveness diffuse the darkness and open the door to healing, revival, and Your kingdom coming on earth as it is in heaven.

Amen!
