Thanksgiving Is the Gate, Praise Is the Court

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, give thanks to Him and praise His name.  For the Lord is good and His love endures forever, His faithfulness continues through all generations.”  Psalm 100: 4-5

Why Every Prayer Sound Matters

Have you ever noticed that the Holy Spirit leads each of us into unique seasons of prayer?  There have been times in my life when God has called me apart, times when I have spent thirty days, or even ninety days alone in His presence, praying and worshipping for hours each day.  Those were sacred times of intercession and intimacy.  But here is what I want you to remember.  God is not asking you to copy James W. Goll, or Lou Engel, or Cindy Jacobs.  He is asking you to discover your own rhythm of devotion.

The Lord is saying, What instrument do you play?  In other words, how do you personally express your love, your gratitude, and your prayer?  Do you practice your instrument of reminding God of His Word?  Do you practice contemplation and giving thanks?  Every day is a good day to give thanks to the Lord.

So I want to encourage you to make thanksgiving your daily practice.  Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.  As you do, you will find yourself stepping into the rhythm of heaven, the steady pulse of worship, gratitude, and intimacy that draws you closer to the Father’s heart.

If these messages bless and strengthen you, I would love for you to subscribe to the Praying DISCRNR Podcast on YouTube, iTunes, or IHeartRadio or sign up for our God Encounters Ministries email list at godencounters.com.  Each new podcast is sent directly to your inbox, completely free, so you can stay encouraged and equipped in your prayer life.

Scripture Based Prayer

Father, I come before You with a thankful heart, choosing to enter Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise. Teach me to walk in the rhythm of Your Spirit and to discover the unique instrument You have placed within me.

Help me to practice gratitude each day and to lift up Your Word with faith and confidence. Let my prayer life be shaped not by striving, but by simple obedience to Your voice.

Renew my strength, restore my focus, and let the joy of Your presence be my steady foundation. I thank You that Your mercy endures forever and Your faithfulness continues to all generations.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
