“For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore, it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness—whose end will be according to their deeds.”
2 Corinthians 11: 13-15
Hello Friends,
James W. Goll checking in to share some new changes happening at God Encounters Ministries and a Word of Exhortation.
As we roll out these new changes, I will be sharing about The DISCRNR resources available to you. Satan’s number one weapon against us is deception and our greatest need as a church is discernment. Through this powerful resource you’ll gain tools to walk in discernment with sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. This resource includes book, study guide, and “The Best of” series that you can purchase to dive deep into the content and live a life of discernment.
This month, I have a word of Exhortation from The DISCRNR – Titled: Exposing the Devil’s Masquerade Party.
The theme scripture comes from 2 Corinthians 11:13–15:
For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore, it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness—whose end will be according to their deeds.
Paul gave this warning in his day, and I believe it is just as crucial—if not more so—for us today. Satan’s number one weapon is deception. The church’s number one need is discernment.
Paul gave this warning in his day, and I believe it is just as crucial—if not more so—for us today. Satan’s number one weapon is deception. The church’s number one need is discernment. The Masquerade Party
In this passage, Paul uses the word disguise three times. Other translations say masquerade. Either way, the point is clear: the enemy hides behind masks of righteousness, seeking to deceive. Sadly, we see this at work today in both the world and the church.
But here’s the good news: the Holy Spirit is pulling off the masks. Exposure is increasing. Judgment begins in the household of God, yes—but so does cleansing. As we cross this threshold into a new season, I believe we are moving from a time of exposure into a time of purification, renewal, and restoration.
Exposure and Purity Rising Together
The Spirit is not only exposing sin, but also birthing a purity movement in our day. Where there has been compromise, there will be cleansing. Where there has been lewdness, there will be modesty and honor. Purity of heart, purity of motives, and purity in lifestyle are being restored. The Lord is drawing a line and raising up a people who walk in holiness and integrity.
Safe Houses in the Body of Christ
Many leaders and believers have worn masks out of fear and trauma, hiding behind money, influence, or image. But the Lord is calling us to build “safe houses”—communities where people can be real, where wounds are healed, and where leaders can walk in authenticity. The Body of Christ must become a refuge, not a masquerade party.
Shame Off, Guilt Off
This isn’t about piling on shame or condemnation. No—the Spirit is saying: shame off, guilt off. Where there is honesty, brokenness, and repentance, there is deliverance and freedom. Chains of fear and control will break. The Lord is raising up a purity movement in our day—purity of heart, purity of motives, purity in lifestyle.
A Call for Discerners
The masquerade is being revealed, but so too is a company of discerners. I believe we will see a revival of discernment, holiness, and purity rising in the Body of Christ. The Lord is answering our prayers. What has been one of the weakest places in the Church will now become a place of strength. A Prayer for Purity and Discernment:
Prayer for Discernment
Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank You for the gift of discernment. We ask that You strip away every disguise of the enemy and flood Your Church with truth. Raise up a generation walking in purity, integrity, and holiness. We declare: shame off, guilt off, and freedom in the Spirit. Lead us into wholeness and empower us to walk as true sons and daughters of the light. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Equip Yourself as a Discerner
As mentioned to go deeper in this theme, I encourage you to explore the book, The Discerner: Hearing, Confirming, and Acting on Prophetic Revelation. It’s also available as a study guide, audio series, and full curriculum kit—all of these are tools to help you sharpen your discernment and walk in freedom.
With Gratitude and Joy for You,
James W. Goll
