Greetings to You in Jesus Great Name!
Observing the Seasons of Life
“There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven…” Ecclesiastes 3:1
“Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do…” 1 Chronicles 12:32 “Hello, this is James Goll.” For those who know me well, you are aware that is one of my signature openings. Perhaps you can hear the low resonance in my voice as I greet you. This is a personal update sharing some of the peaks and valleys as I continue to heal from my recent back surgery. In my youth I regularly prayed three things: 1) Give me wisdom beyond my years, 2) Give me a heart of purity and keep me from the evil way, and finally, 3) Raise up your Joseph counselors to those in authority. I prayed these prayers every week for years. They have guided me every step of the way and I still pray them to this day.
The Process of Recovery
This is Day 60 in my recovery from the intense “decompression and fusion surgery” I had in February. There have been days of visible progress and days that have seemed like set backs. It’s been like the phrase – two steps forward and one step back. Some days, it has felt more like one step forward and two steps back, but patience has been my friend in such times.
There are things I know I must avoid and things I must embrace. Yes, there is a time and season for everything. One of the things I know I must avoid is comparison. Comparing myself to what my peers are doing, comparing the exploits and adventures of others and in contrast feeling I am sitting on the sidelines. Mercy! Recently, I was experiencing a few of these days of temporary set back. I was lying on my couch in pain and my mind was being bombarded by every kind of thought. So I spoke to my soul and declared purpose and life. I took the blanket I was wrapped up in and flung it off and declared, “I will arise and declare the praises of God!” Thank You for Your Prayers & Support
How You Can Help
The ministry of Encounters Network – a ministry to the nations, and I personally, need your help at this time. I am asking the Lord for 1,000 people that will give $10 a month. Would you pray and ask the Lord if He would have you donate to Encounters Network at this time? Please consider giving a gift of even $10 or $25. Every gift makes a tremendous difference!
I still have a long ways to go in my full recovery. Faithfully I keep the prayers of my youth in tact and continue to declare my three core values every day.
- God is good all the time.
- All things work together for good.
- Something good is just about to happen!
As I observe the times and the seasons, what I realize, is that I have never been able to accomplish the Lord’s assignments without the prayers and support of people just like you. Thanks for your love, prayers and support. Remember, together in Jesus, we make a great team!
Thank you for continuing to stand with me in this ongoing battle.
Blessings to Each of You!
James W. Goll
